It’s our 3-year anniversary on March 23, 2021 and all we can say looking back is WOW. We had our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla, CA in 2018 on a beautifully misty day. We are still SO grateful and thankful for the incredible team that made our dream wedding a reality three years ago today. It was truly the perfect day to begin our lives together as husband and wife. And what a wonderful 3 years it has been!
Our wedding was the start of our journey as husband and wife, but we had no idea where that would take us. Of course, we are still obsessed with our loving puppies and they are very much still the center of our world. The new? We moved to Napa and Jimmy now works within the wine industry. We just closed on our first home and are moving in this week; definitely something we didn’t see happening this soon! We were both vegetarians at our wedding and on our honeymoon, but now Jimmy eats all of the opposite foods he used to! We can’t wait to go back to Hawaii just so he can try completely different meals from when we were there last.
Like any wedding, we look at these pictures and see completely different versions of ourselves! It’s crazy to think we don’t really resemble the people in the photo anymore, but see our younger selves in love. We were very much in love then, but what we didn’t know then is how much MORE in love we’ll be at our three year anniversary <3
We see faces that we haven’t seen since the wedding, some that have fallen out of our lives, and others we wish we could squeeze more than ever. All in all, we can say our wedding was absolutely perfect in our definition and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. Now we just have to make it back to Scripps Seaside Forum for a wedding anniversary glass of wine on the beach!

Jimmy and I really wanted to add a lot of personal touches to our wedding details to really show our personality and things we love (like our puppies and love for sprinkles). Being a calligrapher, I wanted to showcase that through our invitations and bigger displays and really “wow” our guests with some of those pieces. We obviously had touches to our puppies with them illustrated on our timeline, on our napkins and of course our hashtag. There were even little treat bags with some peanut butter treats for guests to take home for their pups!
We decided to get married in San Diego, as that’s where I was born and raised. Jimmy is from Ohio, so all he wanted was to be able to see any glimpse of water. When we found Scripps Seaside Forum, it was absolutely perfect. My mom was very nervous about the weather, so we made sure it had a rain plan if needed. It was just about as close as you could get to the water without being on the sand so Jimmy was happy, and I loved it because it was all in one place so the guests didn’t have to travel from ceremony to reception. It couldn’t have been a more perfect venue for us and with that La Jolla shoreline in the back – nothing better than that view for our out of town guests!
Amy with All in the Detail Design designed our gorgeous wedding space (Scripps Seaside Forum) to make it exactly what we envisioned. She pushed me creatively to make beautiful displays for our seating chart and dessert bar. We are SO happy she did this because it turned out better than ever expected. She was there for me every second and I couldn’t have done it without her brilliant, creative, and amazing touches.
Savan Photography captured the most incredible images of us that we will cherish forever. I will always be in love with all of our images – she is just the most killer film photographer out there and we are so thankful we had her capturing our day!
Jackie with Penelope Pots granted all of my floral wishes and more. She is literally a floral wizard and I was so lucky to have her! I remember looking down at my bouquet and seeing a new little detail every time. She puts so much thought and creativity into each piece and I absolutely loved each and every piece she did.
One of our absolutely favorite things is our wedding video. Theater 10 captured all the feels – the fun, the funny, and all of the love that surrounded us that day. Watch our video below!
We seriously couldn’t be more excited to begin this journey, but more importantly, we couldn’t be more GRATEFUL! Thank you to all of you who made this day so perfect for us! Now, to Hawaii!!
