When you rely on Google to come up with some inspiring movies, you get a whole lot of Rocky and Remember the Titans. We wanted to put together a list of the movies that make us inspired and wanting to move forward. These are the movies that get our creative, 90’s-00’s-loving brain smiling. If you haven’t seen any of these, we highly recommend them all! Last night we watched #4 – still smitten!
Anne Hathaway, Robert de Niro, boss babe, fashion, humor – it’ll have you reaching for your handkerchief by the end! It’s SO good and such an inspiring movie!
Anyone who knows us knows this is movie is always on, but it’s one of the most inspiring movies! Even though we’re all not going to become royalty, it’s never going to be “this is as good as it’s gonna get” if you feel like you’re settling – it can always get better (:
One of the best and most underrated movies ever! We saw an advance screening of this in college for a PR class and holy cow, totally changed our life. It’s funny, has an all-star cast and is literally one of the best movies John Favreau has ever made (even though all of his movies are good). WARNING – don’t watch this movie while you’re hungry, you’ll end up racing to In N Out afterwards only to find out they’re closed for President’s Day and we have to give that warning so you don’t make the same mistake we did.
Watched this last night and couldn’t stop quoting Cam from Modern Family when he says: “Meryl Streep could play Batman and be the right choice.”. All the feels and Julie Powell will make your heart flutter with relatable-ness! One of our favorite inspiring cooking movies, along with The 100 Foot Journey!
Pretty sure the only movie where you hate Rachel McAdams cause she’s a total B in it, but also one of the most uplifting, imaginative and beautiful movies. Simply incredible and genius.
Ben Stiller in his finest performance, absolutely love this movie. Makes me want to spread my wings, travel and longboard down a giant hill even though we would definitely die cause we have zero coordination on anything with wheels.
Because you can’t not feel inspired after this movie! Nuff said! While you’re at it, hit up Legally Blonde 2 (and then write in to Mindy asking for the 3rd to be about Britney Spears, obviously).
Anyone who loves pop music, Drew Barrymore and/or amazing rom coms will LOVE this movie. Just go watch it. Trust us!
Talk about an emotional movie! It really does make you think about how life is short, but the relationships we make with people will last for infinity. Definitely watch it, but have your tissues ready!
Jimmy and I watched this one the other day too and I’ve always loved this movie, but as annoying as the misogyny is in it, it’s still a great story of following your gut even if there’s nobody else there to stand up with you. And it’s hilarious, so that’s a plus!
Extra one cause it’s not a movie, but “Making It” on Hulu with Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler is amazing – puns, creativity, and making things, what else could be better?! So good! Highly recommend that!
And while you’re at it, go watch “Queer Eye” too – I’m sure you’ve already heard of it and/or seen it, but just go watch it again cause you’ll be happier than happy!

There’s so many more to add to the list – my wheels are turning and now I want to watch movies all day! Comment below and let me know what your favorite inspirational movies are or if you are going to watch one of these soon!
Happy watching!
